The El Turpial farm was founded in 2019 with the goal of transforming coffee production in a region marked by social and economic challenges. The project grew out of the vision of young coffee farmer Emerson Narvaez, who, driven by the need for innovation and development in his community, decided to devote himself to producing specialty coffee. Unlike most farms in the area, which have historically been tied to illicit crops, Emerson saw an opportunity to change that narrative through coffee.

In just a few years in the industry, Emerson strives not only to produce high-quality coffee but also to create a positive impact in his surroundings, proving that coffee production can be a driving force for economic, sustainable and socially responsible development.

The farm is located in Cumbitara, in the village of El Consuelo, in the department of Nariño, at altitudes from 1,950 to 2,850 meters above sea level. This privileged environment makes it possible to grow exceptional coffee varieties such as Geisha, SL28, Laurina, Sidra, Sudan Rume and Pink Bourbon, which are highly prized for their quality and unique flavor profiles. Emerson focuses not only on quantity but also on quality and sustainability, demonstrating his commitment to specialty coffee production.

The farm covers 75 hectares and combines environmental protection with agricultural production. Of these, 50 hectares are set aside for forest conservation, 25 hectares for pasture, and the 5 hectares devoted to coffee production hold around 10,000 plants, all more than five years old. This structure allows the farm to maintain a balance between sustainability and productivity.

The harvest runs from May to August, during which the coffee cherries are carefully selected to ensure that only the highest-quality beans reach the market. In addition to coffee, the farm also grows bananas, which not only diversifies its income but also strengthens a sustainable agricultural model. Thanks to his energy and vision, Emerson Narvaez has become an example of how young people can help transform coffee production, raising coffee quality standards and having a positive impact on their community.
