Stefania Zecchi has been appointed the new National Coordinator for the Italian chapter of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). In her new role, she will lead the organization's efforts to strengthen its position as a central reference point for the country's specialty coffee supply chain, from producers to roasters and baristas.
In recent statements, Zecchi outlined her primary strategic goal as building a more connected and robust community. She identified fostering relationships among professionals, companies, trainers, and enthusiasts as the foundation for driving professional development, creating business opportunities, and attracting new consumers to specialty coffee. While education remains a core pillar of the SCA, Zecchi emphasized that a dynamic community is the key to multiplying its impact.
To re-engage businesses, Zecchi's strategy is to position SCA Italy as a strategic partner that provides tangible value beyond sponsorships. This includes creating a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and industry collaboration. Her immediate plans involve a listening tour to meet with members and partners across Italy, empowering regional volunteers, and aligning the chapter's activities with the global SCA's mission to make specialty coffee a sustainable and equitable activity.
