Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group (MZB Group), a major Italian coffee company, is reportedly the subject of acquisition interest from at least six international private equity firms. The potential deal, which could value the company at up to €1.2 billion, comes as its majority shareholder, the fund QuattroR, prepares to exit its investment made in 2024.

The acquisition interest follows a significant financial turnaround for the group. For the 2025 fiscal year, MZB Group reported revenues of €1.3 billion, a 27% increase from the previous year. According to industry media, its EBITDA reached €86 million, up 39% from 2024. The company also returned to a net profit of €2 million and reduced its net financial position to €317 million, a decrease of €104 million since QuattroR's initial investment.

The potential sale involves the approximate 70% stake held by QuattroR, but could extend to 100% of the company, as founder Massimo Zanetti has indicated a willingness to sell his remaining shares under acceptable conditions. The group, which owns around 40 brands including Segafredo Zanetti, is expected to retain CEO Pierluigi Tosato, who has been credited with leading the recent restructuring. This would signal strategic continuity for any potential new owner.
