The Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) and the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) have entered into a new partnership to make coffee quality education more accessible in Brazil. Under the agreement, signed at the World of Coffee event in Brussels, BSCA will become the exclusive in-country distributor for CQI's educational content.
This expanded collaboration aims to address the high cost of CQI courses, which has historically limited access for many Brazilian coffee producers. According to CQI, the partnership will focus on leveraging local funds to reduce tuition costs for students. The two organizations have collaborated on delivering coffee education in the country since 2014, but this agreement marks a deeper commitment to improving quality standards.
Industry leaders believe the initiative will significantly strengthen Brazil's specialty coffee sector. BSCA will now coordinate all of CQI's educational activities nationwide, ensuring that classes are taught to a consistent standard by authorized instructors. The shared goal is to enhance the quality and value of Brazilian coffee, which is expected to ultimately improve the livelihoods of its producers through advanced training and skill development.
