The Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform has launched the Regenerating Together Programme, a global, voluntary framework designed to help scale regenerative agriculture practices across food and beverage supply chains. The initiative is backed by a declaration of intent from more than 40 food and agriculture businesses, including major commodity traders and manufacturers.

The program aims to provide a unified approach to addressing systemic challenges such as climate change, soil degradation, biodiversity loss, and economic pressure on farmers. According to the SAI Platform, the goal is to move the industry from defining regenerative agriculture to implementing it at scale. The initiative was developed in collaboration with partners like the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and Regen10 to ensure consistency with other industry efforts.

At the core of the program is a framework built on a four-step implementation process applicable to diverse agricultural systems, including large- and small-scale crop production. This structure, developed over four years with pilots in 25 countries, includes protocols for independent verification and benchmarking. The SAI Platform states this shared approach will help build more resilient farming systems and secure the long-term future of global food supplies.
