Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) has appointed consumer goods veteran Russ Torres to lead its coffee division ahead of a planned separation into a new, independent entity. Torres will join the company on November 3 as CEO of the coffee business, which is slated to become Global Coffee Co. in early 2027 following the integration of JDE Peet's.
The formation of Global Coffee Co. follows KDP’s acquisition of JDE Peet's. Once the integration is complete and the business is spun off, the new entity is projected to generate approximately $16 billion in annual revenue. It will employ over 25,000 people and operate in more than 100 markets, with a portfolio of major brands including Keurig, Jacobs, Peet’s Coffee, L’OR, and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
Torres brings nearly three decades of experience in the consumer packaged goods sector, most recently as President and COO at Kimberly-Clark. His appointment marks the third leadership designation for the future coffee company since the acquisition was announced, signaling a new phase of strategic consolidation as the massive new coffee enterprise prepares to launch.
