The Australian chapter of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) will host a two-day tour of subtropical coffee farms on August 27 and 28. The event, which will take place in New South Wales and Queensland, is organized in anticipation of the United Nations’ 2026 International Year of The Woman Farmer.
The tour's itinerary includes a visit to Zentveld’s Farm in Newry Bar, New South Wales, where participants will learn about regenerative coffee farming techniques and observe ongoing World Coffee Research (WCR) trials being conducted in the country. The group will also visit Wirui Estate in Carool during its peak harvest season. The event will conclude in Miami, Queensland, with community cuppings designed to feature coffees from local Australian and women-led farms.
According to the IWCA's Australian chapter, the initiative is designed to increase visibility for the domestic coffee industry and spotlight the leadership of women in the agricultural sector. The tour provides a platform for hands-on engagement and networking while underscoring the vital role women farmers play in global food security and economic stability, a central theme of the upcoming international designation.
