A new partnership between the coffee brand Bigface, founded by athlete Jimmy Butler, and Colombian musician J Balvin has launched a fundraising initiative to support relief efforts following a major earthquake in western Colombia on August 10.
The magnitude-7.4 earthquake was centered near San José del Palmar in the department of Chocó, causing widespread damage across several coffee-growing areas. The collaboration aims to raise money for the Colombia Se Levanta (Colombia Rises) reconstruction fund, which is dedicated to rebuilding affected communities.
The fundraising effort is structured around a special product bundle that includes a coffee blend and a limited-edition hat. According to the announcement, all net proceeds from the sales of the $78 bundle will be donated directly to the relief fund, channeling support from the international coffee community to the recovery on the ground.
